BISMARCK, N.D. (Valley News Live): You won’t see parking meters any time soon in this state. The North Dakota House voted down a bill that would have given the decision to allow them back to an individual community’s government.
Senate Bill 2247 was sent to the House after being amended. It stated “A governing body of a political subdivision may place on the ballot the question of whether metered parking should be approved for use in the political subdivision.” Therefore, allowing meters would have required the vote of a city’s citizens.
The House voted it down 29-59.
