New report shows varying prices for four commonly inpatient treatments in MN hospitals

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) The Minnesota Department of Health has released a report that shows varying prices for four common inpatient treatments across the state between July 2014 and June 2015.

The four inpatient services are total knee replacement, total hip replacement, normal delivery and a C-section delivery.

The statewide average price for a total knee replacement in Minnesota was $23,997, while the highest price was $46,974 and the lowest was $6,186. When it came to getting a total hip replacement during this time, the statewide average price was $24,335, the highest was $43,359 and the lowest was $6,666.

Meantime a woman having a normal delivery paid a statewide average of $5,975, the highest was $12,303 while the very lowest was $2,872.

If a woman needed a C-section, on average she paid $10,234, the highest paid was $22,831 and the lowest statewide average paid was $4,693.
