New TSA screening rules

Starting Saturday April 14th, if you are traveling by air you will notice a change at your airport security checkpoint. Airline travelers will now be required to place carry-on items larger than a cell phone into bins. This is all in an effort to help T-S-A agents get a closer look at the things you are bringing on board.

The new procedures require items such as tablets, e-readers, and even snacks to be placed in separate bins.
Travelers enrolled in TSA pre-check-in will continue to experience expedited screening, by not having to remove shoes, laptops, or belts. Some of the new procedures may apply if directed by TSA officers though.

TSA officers may instruct travelers to separate any materials that can clutter bags, and obstruct clear images on the x-ray machine.
The TSA is also recommending to travelers that they keep their bags organized and uncluttered to ease the process.
