FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- The NCAA released a statement Wednesday reversing their ruling to prevent host institutions from playing introduction videos leading up to kickoff of FCS playoff football games.
The ruling would have prevented the Bison from playing the traditional tunnel walk but would not have restricted the players actual tunnel walk.
The revised statement adds visiting institutions now have the option to play their traditional introduction video as well. According to NDSU the Jackrabbits have declined the offer to play their video.
Below is the complete statement released by the NCAA:
“The NCAA desires to have a great atmosphere to create a positive experience for the student-athletes, coaches, and fans in attendance at all rounds of the 2016 NCAA Division I Football Championship. After considerable discussion and feedback from the membership, a determination has been made to allow host institutions the option of showing their normal pregame introductory video the remainder of the championship. If the host institution chooses to show their normal team introduction video, the visiting team will also be provided the opportunity to show their standard video.”
North Dakota State hosts South Dakota State Saturday at 11 a.m. in the FCS Quarterfinals.
The game can be seen on ESPN. Join the KVLY KFYR Bison Football Network at 10 a.m. for the Farmers Union Insurance Bison Football Pregame Show.
