MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) - A Moorhead woman with a missing package wants answers. After calling everyone else she could think of, she called our Whistleblower Hotline.
Debbie Melcher ordered some engraved jewelry online worth a couple hundred dollars. She ordered it a few weeks ago, but got confused when it never came. So, she emailed the company. "They emailed back and they said it had been delivered, well that's when I thought something is wrong somewhere."
Then she dialed the post office, and says the post office confirmed to her that the package had been delivered, but wouldn't give her anymore answers as to what happened. "They blew me off,” says Melcher. “That's how I feel, they have just blown me off."
Melcher is under the impression someone took it out of her mailbox. "That's the only thing that could have happened." She wants to post office to do something more, saying they have been passing the blame to the company. "She says doesn't the company carry insurance, and I thought to myself, that is not the point. We need to find out what happened."
The company where she bought the jewelry from is replacing her order, even re-engraving the custom rings and bracelet. However, she's still hoping to answers, if not for her, to prevent it happening to someone else. "I feel like it's an invasion of my privacy, I feel like I have been violated really."
