Gov. Doug Burgum asked to leave ND Senate floor for wearing jeans

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) Gov. Doug Burgum's love for jeans got him booted from the state Senate's floor.

Burgum was posing for a picture with some high school students on Wednesday when he was asked to leave.

A spokesperson for the governor says Bergum didn't mean to disrespect to the chamber rules.

Sources say other male lawmakers who wear a suit and tie when the Legislature is in session aren't a big fan of the governor's casual wear.

Burgum also wore jeans at his inauguration last month.
