Near Lancaster, Minn. (Valley News Live) Investigators are trying to figure out the cause of a wildfire that burned 1,500 acres and a cabin in northern Minnesota and southern Canada.
The Kittson County Sheriff's Department says the fire started the afternoon of Tuesday, May 15 and then quickly spread. Winds were gusting at 37 miles per hour and temps in the 80s made it hard to contain the flames.
Air tankers and planes from multiple agencies were brought in to fight the fire from the sky.
Crews eventually got the fire under control.
There are no injuries reported at this time.
