NBC A Virginia boy is on life support and police say they are charging his mother and her boyfriend after finding shoe prints on the boy’s body.
32 year old Jaye Hadley is being charged with child abuse after authorities say they responded to a call for an unresponsive child.
It happened on Monday in Isle Wight County, Virginia where deputies rushed to a home and found the 5 year-old boy who was not breathing.
According to court documents doctors found significant bruising on the child’s lower back and bottom.
The bruises left an imprint of a shoe.
The documents go on to say the boy's mother 32 year-old Jaye Hadley admitted to deputies that she beat her son with a shoe.
She then slammed his head on the floor. There was also a hole in the wall. Hadley says the boy fell into the wall.
Deputies recovered shoes, drywall and electronics from the home.
Hadley was a teacher at a child development center in Newport News.
She and her boyfriend 33 year-old Justin Cox are in jail with no bond and he’s charged with child neglect.
The little boy is expected to have permanent brain damage.
