It's going to cost you a lot less for traffic violations in Fargo. City commissioners just decided to lower Fargo’s fees to match statewide traffic fines. The decision is effective immediately. If you get a ticket for running a stop sign, tonight it will cost you twenty dollars. Earlier today the fine would have been one hundred dollars.
Speeding tickets used to range from seventy-five to one hundred and seventy-five, now it’s ten to fifty-five. Officials made this decision today, because of a decision made by the supreme court yesterday which said the city can't charge more than the state does. Officials say they are disappointed because they believe this will make the streets less safe.
