DETROIT (AP) - Prince Fielder hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning last night to give the Detroit Tigers a 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Miguel Cabrera added a home run and three RBIs for the Tigers, who won their third straight. Josh Willingham homered twice for the Twins.
BOSTON (AP) - Drew Stubbs and Mark Reynolds drove in three runs apiece last night as the Cleveland Indians routed the Boston Red Sox 12-3 in manager Terry Francona's return to Fenway Park. Michael Bourn and Yan Gomes added two RBIs each for the Indians. David Ortiz smacked a three-run homer for Boston.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Los Angeles hit four home runs last night as the Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4. Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo and Chris Iannetta all went deep for the Angels. Salvador Perez and George Kottaras both had RBIs in the bottom of the ninth to pull the Royals within one.
DETROIT (AP) - Jimmy Howard made 27 saves last night to lead the Detroit Red Wings past the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0 in Game 4 of their second-round series. Jakub Kindl and Daniel Cleary scored for the Red Wings, who lead the series 3-1. Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was called for three penalties in the second period.
